Main gallery
Explore the all-new exhibits in our 16,000 square foot main gallery and come face-to-face with an Ice Age bison, experience the magical world of the Funky Forest, try your hand at being a rock star, and travel through 13,000 years of Fort Collins history!
The Archive at FCMoD
View more than 200,000 photographs, documents, books, and memorabilia that chronicle the people, places, and events that have shaped the history of Fort Collins and surrounding areas from the 1860s to today. The Archive is always free and open to the public.
Rooftop observation deck
Enjoy panoramic views of Downtown Fort Collins, the Poudre River, and the mountains. Part of FCMoD’s “Free Zone,” you are welcome to come up and enjoy the view any time without buying a ticket to the museum.
Natural Areas Visitors Center
Located just off the lobby, this is the place to learn about Fort Collins’ many beautiful natural areas, and to enjoy our unique ambassadors – two live black footed ferrets. This area is also part of the Free Zone.
Digital Dome Theater
An immersive, 360-degree theater that will transport you into the experience! The theater features different movies during the day, and live science, cultural, and music events.
The Cache
Shop with wonder at The Cache, FCMoD's museum store! You'll find a unique array of fun and educational products ranging from dream catchers and dinosaur replicas to gyroscopes and maracas.
Location: Fort Collins Museum of Discovery - Music Garage
Description: Stop by the Music Garage and rock out! Jam with a friend or two, and try your chops out on a variety of instruments. Museum staff will be there to help you out…but please, don’t play Free Bird.
